Barry Weaver
Barry is a trainer and speaker on sustainability and is committed to helping individuals and organizations excel. With over the 25 years of experience, Barry has a comprehensive background in organizational leadership and multifamily real estate management. He has successfully managed portfolios with operating budgets in excess of $53M and over $900M in value. Barry has a depth of experience with a full-spectrum of real estate including Market Rate, LIHTC, HUD 202, Section 236, 221 (d) (3), 221 (d) (4), Bond, HOME, Hope VI, RAD, Public Housing, Congregate Care, and Assisted Living.
Barry is a committed "sustainability” professional. Barry became involved in environmental issues in the late 1970’s as an undergraduate at Humboldt State University (HSU) in Northern California. HSU is internationally known for its conservation and environmental programs. Barry is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and an approved trainer for the Credential for Green Property Management (CGPM). Barry is the author of Green Housing: A Practical Guide to Green Real Estate Management.
Barry earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado, Denver, CO, a B.A. in Social Welfare and a B.A. in Sociology from Humboldt State University, Arcata, CA. Barry attended graduate school at the University of Notre Dame and Notre Dame’s Nonprofit Executive Leadership Program. He studied European social policy at the University of Uppsala, Uppsala, Sweden. Barry is a graduate of Coach U, school of professional coaching.
Barry is a Certified Property Manager (CPM®); a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP®); a National Affordable Housing Management Professional – Executive (NAHP-e); a Specialist in Housing Credit Management (SHCM); and a Licensed Real Estate Broker.
