Everything Rises and Falls on Leadership - John Maxwell
During a career of over 40 years, I have had the opportunity to lead organizations of up to 3900+ people. With four separate organizations, the challenge was to turn around poor to failing performance. These challenging opportunities became Beta platforms for the application of John Maxwell's 21 Laws. These organizations were culturally, demographically, and geographically diverse. The rigorous application of the 21 Laws developed me as a leader and enabled a complete turnaround of performance in each organization. These organizations included: 1) a US Naval Shipyard providing nuclear services to submarines; 2) a US Department of Energy National Security Complex; and 3) a privately owned commercial shipyard. Connecting and developing influence were fundamental to successful results.
