Rosa Rivera
A benevolent leader with over 30 years of military service and federal service combined. The latter part of my military career was spent instructing the Army First Sergeants Course (Fort Bliss, Texas) which focused on the “whole” person concept (attributes and competencies of good leaders). This was a highlight in my military career because my role was linked to a cause greater than myself - developing leaders, supporting the Army mission, and defending the U.S. Constitution. I have also taught undergraduate business courses at the university level. I have a Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership degree. Navigating the doctoral journey posed many challenges as well as developmental opportunities. I live by a few basic golden rules: connect with people, be passionate about what you do, and laugh. The quality of every human life is sustained by knowledge. As I embark on a new journey with the John Maxwell Team, I do so with a renewed mind. My goal is to serve as a beacon of hope for anyone who because of their differences (gender, ethnicity, financial status, et cetera) have come to believe that the right to behold knowledge is reserved for a selected class. To succeed all you need is to be passionate about what you do. Never stop learning.
